Author Guidelines for The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Creative Innovation Ideas (THE MIR)

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Creative Innovation Ideas (THE MIR) is a scholarly open-access journal dedicated to fostering high-quality research across diverse academic disciplines. The journal welcomes submissions that contribute to:

  • Multidisciplinary research in pure sciences and various educational fields.
  • Studies on the development of educational applications, including comprehensive analysis and evaluation.
  • Exploration of creative and innovative ideas that advance research and practical implementations.

THE MIR invites original research articles, case studies, and review papers that bridge theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. These guidelines outline the submission process, manuscript preparation, and editorial policies to ensure a smooth publication process.


General Submission Requirements

  1. Originality: Manuscripts must be original works, not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
  2. Language: Submissions must be written in clear, concise English (British or American) or Malay. Non-native speakers are encouraged to have their work proofread by a professional editor.
  3. Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages (approximately 6,000 words), including tables, figures, and references.
  4. Peer Review: All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure quality and impartiality.
  5. Cover Letter: Each submission must include a short cover letter stating the significance of the work, its novelty, and its alignment with THE MIR’s scope (see template below).

Manuscript Types

  1. Original Research Articles: Present significant advancements in multidisciplinary research or educational applications. Structure: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.
  2. Case Studies: Offer in-depth analysis of specific cases related to the journal’s scope. Structure: Abstract, Introduction, Case Description, Analysis, Discussion, Conclusion.
  3. Review Papers: Provide comprehensive overviews of current trends, innovations, or methodologies. Structure: Abstract, Introduction, Main Review Sections, Conclusion.

Manuscript Preparation

  1. File Format: Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word files (.doc or .docx).
  2. Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, with 2.54 cm (1-inch) margins on all sides.
  3. Title: Provide a concise, descriptive title (maximum 20 words).
  4. Abstract: Include an abstract of 150–200 words summarizing the study’s objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Highlight what is new or novel. Avoid references and non-standard abbreviations; if unavoidable, define them at first mention.
  5. Keywords: List 4–6 keywords for indexing and retrieval purposes.
  6. Structure: Divide the manuscript into numbered sections (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Materials and Methods, 2.1 Subsection, etc.). Use SI units for scientific data.
Author Information
  • Include all authors' full names, affiliations (institution, department, city, country), and email addresses.
  • Designate one corresponding author with complete contact details (full postal address, phone number with country code, email).
  • For ambiguous family names (e.g., double names), clarify accordingly.
Tables and Figures
  • Number tables and figures sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and provide concise captions.
  • Embed them in the text or place them at the end of the manuscript.
  • Ensure high-resolution figures (minimum 300 dpi) in .jpg, .png, or .tiff format.
Mathematical Notation
  • Type equations, triple-spaced, and number them consecutively (e.g., Eq. 1).
  • Use italics for variables and the solidus (/) for fractions where possible.

Ethical Guidelines

  1. Conflict of Interest: Disclose any financial, personal, or other relationships within the past three years that could influence the work.
  2. Plagiarism: Manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism. Violations will result in rejection.
  3. Authorship: All listed authors must have contributed significantly and agreed to the submission.
  4. Referees: Suggest three potential reviewers (names, affiliations, emails). The editor reserves the right to select reviewers.

Reference Style

THE MIR uses the Chicago Author-Date style with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) where available. Examples:

Post-Acceptance

  1. Proofreading: Authors will review proofs before publication.
  2. Publication Fees: soon will be confirmed.
  3. Copyright: Authors retain copyright but grant THE MIR a license to publish under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

Before submitting, ensure:

  • Corresponding author contact details are provided (email, postal address, phone).
  • Manuscript includes keywords, figure captions, and tables.
  • The text is spell-checked and grammar-checked.
  • References follow the Chicago Author-Date style and are cited in the text.
  • Permission is obtained for copyrighted material.
