Public health is a fundamental aspect of national development, but the quality of life of the community is still influenced by various complex determinant factors. The health policies implemented by the government have not been fully able to overcome the challenges that exist at the community level. This research aims to analyze policies and determinants of public health in an effort to improve the quality of life. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in several purposively selected areas. Data was collected through interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with informants consisting of the public, health workers, and policy makers. A sample of the population was selected based on active involvement in public health programs and representation from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. The results of the study show that the implementation of health policies still faces obstacles in the aspects of socialization and affordability of services. The main determinants that affect quality of life include access to health facilities, education level, and environmental conditions. Community participation in policy formulation and implementation has been proven to increase the effectiveness of health programs. The conclusion of this study confirms the importance of collaboration between the government and the community in designing health policies that are responsive to local needs. The practical implication is that strengthening community capacity and increasing access to health services is the main strategy to improve the quality of life of the community.
