Abstract

The development of the circular economy is an important aspect that must be considered in the university curriculum to support environmental sustainability. An eco-innovation-based curriculum is seen as an effective approach to integrating circular economy literacy in higher education. This study aims to describe and evaluate how circular economy literacy is implemented in the curriculum and its impact on student readiness, with the hope that the results can be the basis for the development of more adaptive and relevant education in the future. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach in a university. Data was collected through interviews with lecturers and students, observation of the learning process, and analysis of curriculum documents. The sample was purposively selected from three study programs that applied an eco-innovation-based curriculum. The results of the study show that circular economy literacy has been integrated into learning materials, classroom activities, and appropriate assessments. Students show increased ability to understand the concept and application of the circular economy. The implementation of this curriculum also helps increase students' readiness to face the world of work that is oriented towards sustainability. The study concludes that integrating circular economy literacy effectively increases student readiness. The implications of this study highlight the need for the sustainable development of teaching materials and the enhancement of lecturers' capacity in teaching circular economy literacy.
